Matt and I recently watched, The Same Kind of Different as Me, based on the true story of how a homeless ex-convict changes the life of a selfish, successful art dealer. This quote was one of the most memorable from the film and I thought it worth sharing.

I’ve always been an optimist. As a child, I even received an award from The Optimist Club, family luncheon and all. After surviving the most difficult time in my life over the last 6 months, it is evident to me that optimism is a pervasive way of life. Even on the darkest of days, there was always joy, always an abundance of blessings. To approach life with a negative state of mind is like starting the game already having lost. Don’t just recognize the good in life: focus on it, enjoy it, revel in it. You will soon learn that changing your circumstances is as easy as changing your internal state of being.
I know it's been said a thousand times to live every day as if it were your last. However, if you haven't yet taken those words to heart, you need to. Like 10 minutes ago. Why be stuck in a job you hate, in a relationship that hurts you or in a location you don't want to live? Invest in yourself and live the life you feel you should lead in your heart. Trust me, no matter how people react or what you must endure to get there, your soul will thank you and it will be worth it.
Most people are usually trying to fit in with one group or another. I’ve never been normal. I’ve never “fit in,” and I’m perfectly okay with that. History has proven that the people who do the most amazing things are anything but normal.
Don’t be normal. Be you. Be extraordinary.
Suffering is a part of life. We’ve all had our share of heartache, whether in love, family, business, finances, health or otherwise. However, every time you get to the other side of the struggle, you become stronger. Sometimes when in the hardest moments, it’s important for me to stop and consciously recognize that the suffering will come to an end, one way or another, and that even when I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, I’ve successfully navigated my way through a lifetime of struggles to get here. Don’t let a bad moment or a bad day or a bad year weaken your faith. Face your fears, let them go and be better for them.
On some level, I believe most people agree to follow their inspiration. However, at Studio620D, we believe in letting your inspiration guide not only big decisions (like career changes), but every decision in every moment to make all you do truly inspired. Don’t be afraid to go where your inspiration takes you. You might be surprised at the results!
