At 13-years-old I received my first camera as a Christmas present: a Canon Sure Shot Z85. From that moment on, I've had a camera on my person at nearly all times, and with the exception of my iPhone, it's always been a Canon. Now shooting with my eighth Canon camera, the 5D Mark IV, I am loyal to no other brand like I am Canon. Having only one issue with a camera 20 years ago, I sent it to the manufacturer and for a nominal charge, it was fixed and returned to me in a reasonable amount of time. I worked a part-time job starting at age 14 so that I could have enough money for film, developing and camera equipment. As I began my senior year of high school, I managed to purchase a Canon EOS A2E for use during my exchange trip to France. In February of this year, as my husband and I prepared for our honeymoon to Paris, I couldn't bear to bring my old Canon Rebel T3i. Instead of spending the money on our wedding, we had a private ceremony at our church and with my husband's urging, invested everything we had left in savings on my Canon 5D Mark IV, Epitome. It was the second best decision I've ever made.
As a photographer, I've shot for yearbooks, newspapers and my own creative endeavors earning experience photographing families, weddings and events, NCAA Division I sports, and now motorsports. I’ve shot in wind, drenching rain, snow, water and sand. I’ve had basketball players land on me. I’ve dropped my camera. I let my twin four-year-olds “help” me take photos. I use Canon and nothing else.
